Queenstown is a resort town built at the edge of Lake Wakatipu. It is known as the adventure capital of New Zealand, boasting hundreds of adventure tourism activities such as skiing, snowboarding, jet boating, whitewater rafting, bungy jumping, mountain biking, paragliding, and sky diving. All these excitement aside, however, Queenstown is a very beautiful and liveable town, with spectacular view of nearby mountains and Lake Wakatipu. I should warn you that Queenstown gets really really busy in the summer, so book early to avoid disappointment. We looked for an apartment 2 months before the trip and couldn’t find any vacancy, so we ended up staying in the nearby and smaller town of Wanaka.
If you find yourself in Queenstown one day, don’t forget to try the famous Fergburger. There is always a long queue, but the burgers are worth the wait!
