In our first few weeks in Perth, V and I used to collect local travel guides and brochures to help us plan our travels and make the most of our limited time in Perth (8 months, based on my project duration). One must-do activity which makes it to all of these materials without fail is a cruise along the Swan River. One and a half year later, we’d had such good time here, been to so many beautiful places within driving distance, but realised we hadn’t got around to doing the cruise yet! I made a decision one weekend to drop everything and go down to the Barrack Jetty, buy 2 tickets for any cruise with tickets left, and go away for the day! Or half a day, as it happened, because we got tickets for the Captain Cook Cruises’ lunch cruise to Fremantle!

The cruise was very relaxing and gave us the opportunity to see Perth and Fremantle from a different point of view. V and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Food was mediocre though, so if you’re thinking of doing it, you should skip it and opt for the cruise only, which gives you better value for your money.

The whole cruise took 3 hours, and when our ship finally docked back at the Barrack Jetty, we were full and happy. We explored the Supreme Court Gardens to burn some of the weekend calories before heading back home to an evening of Playstation games. All in all, a perfect Saturday.
