One of the things about Perth which still amazes us even after a year of living here is how deserted parts of the city are in the weekend. Last week, V and I had ramen for lunch at Arigataya in Northbridge (Perth’s very own Chinatown), and on our way back to the car, we stumbled into this empty alleyway filled with lanterns, a rare sight. Walking through the alleyway, we certainly felt like we were transported to a forgotten place and time. That is, until we turned back and the sight of traffic brought us back to reality.
